The line of Vinny Prospal, Brandon Dubinsky and Marian Gaborik will be reunited tomorrow night in Edmonton as the Rangers face the Oilers. Coach Torts said he “liked the way the line played earlier this season” and wanted to give Artem Anisimov more minutes centering Ales Kotalik and Christopher Higgins. Enver Lisin, who missed last night’s game with a swollen foot is expected to return tomorrow and will probably be on the wing with Chris Drury and Ryan Callahan. With Dane Byers’ suspension (a disappointment for his family which was planning to attend the game), the fourth line will consist of Sean Avery, Brian Boyle and most likely Aaron Voros. No word on whether Donald Brashear will be available due to his lingering injuries.
The other news from practice today is that Henrik Lundqvist did not skate (along with Gaborik) and has a stiff right thigh and Torts may give backup Stephen Valiquette the start tomorrow night. Valiquette was bombed in his last start against San Jose and this may be a perfect opportunity to give Henrik some rest and get Valiquette’s confidence back.
